9-Day Scandinavian Tour of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland

Live a little lagom and travel to northern Europe’s historic, stylish and cosmopolitan cities on this fairy-tale Scandinavia tour. You’ll learn about the area’s Viking history, why Helsinki is the capital of cool, and dine amidst the former hunting and fishing grounds of Swedish kings.

Day 1 Greetings from Copenhagen

In contemporary Copenhagen, Hans Christian Andersen would have felt completely at home. As you spend your first day touring this vibrant city, you'll learn that the Danish capital hasn't lost any of its fairy-tale charms over the years. Upon arrival, be transferred to the historic Phoenix Hotel, located in Copenhagen's most affluent neighborhood, where you will be staying with Stays With Stories. Learn about the hotel's lengthy history, which spans the late 17th century, both World Wars, and up to the present day, when it has been beautifully renovated. After that, enjoy the sunlight with the friendly locals before gathering your trip companions and your travel director for a welcome reception.

See Amalienborg Palace, the beloved royal residence of Denmark, before spending the rest of the day doing your own thing around Copenhagen. Have a drink while admiring Nyhavn's vibrant facades, or go on an optional excursion to the Danish Riviera and see the 17th-century Frederiksborg Castle as you pass by old maritime communities.

As you go by ferry across the resund, through the Swedish countryside, past Gothenburg, and on to Norway, it's a fond farvel to Copenhagen and a happy and glad hej to Sweden.
